Earlier this month I wrote a blog about Casta Del Sol, Mission Viejo's Baby Boomers Club's outing at the beach. Well it got canceled but I didn't get the message.
We were to meet around 11:00 at the beach, were there are tables and BBQs, in the same area were we have held get togethers before. I arrived right after 11:00 and drove by trying to find anyone that looked familiar. Not seeing anyone as I drove by, I parked my car and went for a walk, checking out all the picnic tables to see if I could find them. Of course they weren't there and no one else asked me to join them, so I decide I had lost my mind and had the wrong date. I figured I was a week too early.
Now I arranged the day off, did the shopping for the desert I planned to bring and got up early, so it would be done on time. Here I am at the beach, with my beach chair, a cooler with soda and wine plus about 40 cream puffs covered in chocolate. I decided I didn't want to call home and admit that I had the date wrong and have some one say didn't you check it. I was sure of the day but then maybe I did have it wrong.
I got everything I had with me out and sat down to enjoy the peace and quiet, eat some cream puffs and sun myself. I had sat there about 20 minutes when my cell phone rang and it was my husband calling to tell me there was a message on the answer machine saying the party had been canceled. He was working on the connections and had turned off the answer machine earlier without looking at it. When he turned it back on he saw that the light was blinking.
I am so glad, that this time I hadn't lost my mind, that can wait for another day!
